30 seconds to mars - from yesterday music video analysis

Hey Guys.
Too help us with our video I'm going to do some analysis on 30 seconds to mars from yesterday.

Artist: 30 Seconds to mars
Song: From yesterday

Director: Jeff Seibenick

30 seconds to mars is a alternative metal/ hard rock band. usually in rock bands music videos they have a story line and plot. 30 seconds to mars continues this idea when their story is set in China (the first ever american group to film in china for there music video).

The video shows four warriors (the band) in china getting prepared to fight with other samurai warriors in a all for all battle against each other. The film starts off with the palace in china being all perfect when they walk to there changing rooms to get into there armor. Once the fight begins, the audience start seeing the sins of the palace and realize its not a great place after all. At the end we see all four members of the band left on the fight arena with swords to each others throats and they just stop and walk away together. This music video was and probably still is the most expensive music video ever made so far making up to $13 million.

Through out the movie there are lots of close ups of the band but not many notion of looking apart from one scene where you see the main singers chest as he's changing from a robe to the samurais armor.

From Yesterday is narrative based as there is a story to it and an underlying meaning, This music video is loosely based on "The Last Emporer"

Throughout out the music video we can't tell that theres any Intextual Referances as apart from "The Last Emperor" But we are sure that there is some Intextual Referances of movies which we haven't seen to link it too.

I hope you enjoyed our analyisis.
